These are great fun and are a good excuse for a sunflower party any day you want to feel sunny.

You could theme your tea party in the following ways:

How about a yellow theme – everyone who attends needs to wear at least one yellow item, it can be as small as a hair slide, or as large as an entire yellow outfit.

Maybe you fancy a gardening fancy dress theme – who can make a watering can costume, or go as Mr McGregor from The Tale of Peter Rabbit? Or you could follow our instructions to make Sunflower head-dresses and fill your nursery full of walking, talking sunflowers.

Or how about serving up yellow food and drinks like:

Cheese and pineapple
Orange juice
Egg sandwiches
Custard cream biscuits
Nectarines and bananas

Don’t forget to invite lots of people to your tea party – family and friends of the children currently in the nursery, the children who moved up to primary school during the summer, even a local gardening celebrity or MP – think of the local publicity you could get for your nursery.
